Bachata

Bachata has its origins in the Dominican Republic. Although danced in a square in its original form, the basic step has changed to taking three steps to the right and three steps to the left in the form that has become popular throughout the world. Compared to Salsa it is a slower, romantic and sexy dance. Dominican Bachata consists of less turns but fast and rhythmic footwork. On the other hand, Sensual Bachata, which has become the more popular variation, is characterized by lots of turns, circular movements and body rolls. Its music is also slower and romantic.
